Profits From Data Harvesting & Advertising Are Not Shared

In the most recently reported fiscal year, Google's revenue amounted to 181.69 billion US dollars.

These earnings are despite a global pandemic that crippled most traditional businesses yet benefited big tech greatly. Google's revenue is largely made up of advertising revenue, which amounted to 146.9 billion US dollars in 2020. These types of earnings, earned mainly from data harvesting and advertising revenue, have allowed Google to become one of the largest companies on the face of the planet and arguably the most dominant internet-based company in the world. None of this revenue is shared with daily users in the form of financial compensation.
